Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the High Council?
A: The high council is the highest level of responsibility within the convention structure.  These individuals are the most visible persons of the organization to anyone outside of Fandemonium.  They create and implement policies, structure, and act as adjunct members of directorial staff, should any be needed.  High council members are also the individuals to whom directors are subordinate.

Q: What are the Directors?
A: This is the second level of respnsibility within the convention structure, acting directly below the high council.  Directors are the primary overseers of certain defined areas and genres within the Fandemonium sphere of influence. They are required to research, create, and encourage growth within those areas.  Coordinators and general staff are directly subordinate to these individuals.

Q: What are Coordinators?
A: Coordinators cover specific areas under the leadership of the director associated with the field in question.  For example, the electronic gaming director works with both the video game and LAN gaming coordinators to create the overall electronic gaming experience.

Q: What is Core Staff?
A: Core staff is the level that anyone joining the Fandemonium staff starts as.  The core staff can cover a range of tasks throughout the conventions, such as registration, security, cleanup detail, and a variety of other jobs.

Q: What is Security?
A: The security team is the eyes and ears of the convention.  It is their specific task to watch for and prevent theft and damage from both the dealers room and the convention itself.  Security is also intended to mediate non-violent conflict between convention attendees.  While most security members are required to wear staff badges, there are plain clothes security members as well.

Q: Whats the difference between Volunteer & Core Staff.
A: Volunteer Staff are people who help out only for a specific Fandemonium event itself. Core Staff help out all year long with running Fandemonium Presents Events, and at Fandemonium. Core Staff also have the benefit of training throughout the year to help them more effectivly work Fandemonium.

Q: Who can join Core Staff?
A: Anyone can join staff.

Q: How can I apply to be a Director or Coordinator?
A: Anyone who has served at least one year as Fandemonium Core Staff can volunteer for a Directors position.

Q: How do I qualify to join the High Council?
A: Anyone who has served one year as Fandemonium Core Staff member & one year as a Fandemonium Director may qualify to apply for a High Council position.
