Fandemonium TV - It Lives!
« on: July 01, 2008, 11:03:14 PM »

Fandemonium TV was a project we had intended to be a bi-monthly Skit & How To, based show for TVTV11. Due to limited time, means, man power and budget constraints this project died on the vine. Being Fandemonium however we never give up, we just adapt and evolve and find a way to make it work. So after Fandemonium '08 comes to a close this year we will be spending the Fall and Winter season working on a new version of Fandemonium TV designed for YouTube and similar streaming video sites. And we will also be formating it so that it can be broadcast on TVTV11.

We want as many local fans to be able to be a part of Fandemonium TV as possible. So that much like Fandemonium itself Fandemonium TV's focus will be on what Fans can do. In that spirit we would like to ask all those who are interested to feel free to submit any of the following: Scripts, pre-recorded; how-to videos, skit videos, musical performance videos. Anime Music Videos and Fan Music Videos, Poetry Readings, etc. Just about anything that is Fandom related will be accepted. You will receive full recognition for the content you provide in the credits of the show.

The requirements are simple all content must be under 10min or less in length to be in compliance with YouTube length limits, scripts for skits or how-to performances must be able to be completed within that same time limit or in a series of 10min blocks. Please keep in mind that footage can be sped up as well to help it fit the time limit.

All content can be sent to the bellow address, we will start excepting content immediately as we hope to have Fandemonium TV ready to go online by Spring of '09:

Fandemonium TV
308 South 1st Avenue West
Middleton, ID 83644-5778
USA

Please include Your Name and if applicable group name. E-mail address, Phone#, Address, & a description of the content and its running length if its a video file.

Will you be doing any in-studio shoots like interviews or just a host introduction of the programming? Because I've taken a couple of video classes with TVTV with BSU so I know how the place works and how to become a producer, thus being able to use the facilities as one.

We will be running the whole gambit as far as shooting locations. We will be doing live event footage shoots, studio shoots, home studio shoots. Non-studio shoots at local businesses. Etc. and so forth. Right now we are aiming to keep it small and keep it achievable. I am still working with a few people to put all the hardware and software together that will be required for this project.

Video sources will be pulled from pre-existing footage, PC/MAC computer environment generated footage, Web-Cams, MiniDV Cams & Studio grade cameras when available. This project is about not limiting ones self by setting a minimum standard for technology. Because of that video & audio footage quality will vary from piece to piece, but since the aim is for guerrilla video style with no implied limits other than limitations on content due to restrictions imposed by YouTube and TVTV11 this method should work out fine. If you have ideas or would like to be a part of this by all means we welcome an ever expanding knowledge base of people.

The philosophy behind Fandemonium TV while fairly simple works within the basic premise that Idaho has for a long time now been in need of new and radical ways to connect its Fan culture communities, most of which have existed in small isolated pockets for a long time but have not really reached out and connected with one another. Fandemonium was a first step at trying to bring those Fan/Geek/Alt cultures together. but it has it limits as it only happens once a year. States with larger populations have the benefit of density and mass to connect people, in Idaho however where we tend to be far more spread out we need to make use of technology to interconnect communities together, to let people know there are more fans just like them in the great state of Idaho. And if we can do that by entertaining and demonstrating fandom then alls the better.

Awesome!

Well, I know how to operate a camera, work an audio control panel, work a switchboard and pretty much anything else involved in shooting video. I'll be more than happy to work as a grunt crew person.

And I've got ideas for videos as well to be aired alongside.

Yes we take submissions from out of state. Preferably from within the Intermountain region, Idaho, Montana, Utah, Wyoming, Nevada, etc. But we will use viable content from anywhere we can get it.

just an idea, but i think it would be awesome to do an anime-mentry on MoNAC, the longest running Anime Club in Idaho (i think unless someone wants to challenge that). Unfortunately i have neither a video cam etc to take documentary shots or interviews

Second longest actually, Custodians of Otakudom are/were the longest running Anime Club. Though since they have disbanded there group as far as I am aware you will very shortly surpass them for longest running club.

And focus piece on local clubs, gaming groups, fandom retailers, etc. is definitely within the scope of what we are looking at doing. Though at this point we do not have the infrastructure to do much beyond a simple how-to and interview based show. We are kicking around ideas, but the only people currently active on this project is myself, and I am already insanely busy with everything else I am working on.

Once I have work space cleared I will try to build a PC dedicated as a Video Editing station. Once that is done we will have a better idea of what will be possible.

Hey, if I can get some free time I'll help go out and shoot those segments, I have high school and college experience doing that.
