In 1987, Jan’s obsession with anime overpowered her common sense (and ardent desire to remain stuck forever as a Radio Shack salesperson) and she moved to Japan to pursue a career in the anime industry. She attended the International Animation Institute where she was made a teacher almost a year before graduation. She went on to work at a number of small production companies learning about the various stages of the animation production process. Despite the best efforts of the Japanese Immigration Bureau (bad attitude) and the Chinese Army (bad marksmanship) to keep her from her goal, Jan went to work for Artland in 1989 in the production department, a first for a foreigner. She worked on RikiOh 2, Locke the Superman (OVA), Shurato (OVA), Bubblegum Crash (OVA) and Tottoi (feature).

With the experience of teaching animation production techniques all around Asia, Jan founded her own full production company, TAO Corporation Ltd., in Bangkok, Thailand in 1991. TAO did work on Moldiver, Diary of Mikan, Genocyber and SWAT Kats amongst others. In 1994, Jan moved into consulting work, freelancing for Cambridge Animation Systems the developers of Animo (a computer assisted (2D) animation production system).

Also in 1994, Jan co-founded GENESIS Digital Publishing Company with Izumi Matsumoto (Kimagure Orange Road) where they created Comic ON, a CD-ROM manga compendium in which Jan made her manga debut with her original digital graphic novel Transcendence. The first volume of Comic ON was released in 1996 and it went on to be the one of the top selling non-game CD-ROM titles in Japan of that year.

In 1995 she went to work for Production I.G (Ghost in the Shell, Blood) as the president of Production I.G. USA and a producer and technical director on the Japanese side. She was technical director of the animation for the Grandstream Saga, Madou Monogatari, and Kyoushin Senki games as well as working on the Panzer Dragoon OVA. She left Production IG in early 1998 to pursue a career as a freelance director.

In 1999 Jan directed episodes of Susie-chan & Marvy (TV) and spent most of the year working on the development of original TV series projects.

In 2000, Jan moved back to the USA to work at Celsys USA on the development of the next generation of the RETAS digital production system. She continues to develop original projects for television, OVA, music video and feature film release, music videos and commercials. She has worked as a manga translator (Scryed, Psychic Academy, Here is Greenwood, Pink Sniper) and has done anime translation as well (Dead Leaves, etc.)

Jan has traveled extensively throughout Asia and the US teaching animation techniques and speaking at conventions. She has also written and co-written magazine articles and textbooks about cel production, animation, and computer animation.

She produced Voices for Peace, an album advocating world peace with vocals by popular voice actors Greg Ayres, Christopher Ayres, Chris Patton, Tiffany Grant, Brittney Karbowski, Kira Vincent-Davis, Jamie McGonnigal, Mike Sinterniklaas, Amanda Winn Lee and herself. Art for the album was donated by Robert DeJesus, Doug Smith, Rikki & Tavi, Steve Bennett, Kevin Bolk and herself. The music is done by a group of Chicago area musicians and she played harmonica on the album. All proceeds from the album are donated to the charities Doctors Without Borders and C.A.R.E. Voices For's second album, Voices for Tolerance, is currently in production. For more information:. www.voicesfor.org

Jan also does body art (both henna art and tattoo design), plans and throws amazing parties, translates Japanese manga and anime shows into English and is working hard to learn to teach yoga.

Kinetic Karma" formed in 2007 and released their first album in 2008 under the name "Brother Wind" and have since added a player and a whole new dimension to their music. Kinetic Karma mixes styles from raw 60's and 70's rock to the heavier pop of the nineties and with a spattering of techno this quartet combine to write and perform rich energetic and poignant musical compositions. But what do they sound like? Well, many have suggested that they sounds a bit like "Toad the Wet Sprocket" with elements of "U2" and even a bit of "Maroon Five" in the mix.

The Men In Black are the volunteer arm of Steve Jackson Games. In the guise of normal, everyday game enthusiasts, they subtly promote awareness of SJ Games products and help to further the agenda of the secret masters. They also do blatantly obvious things like run SJ Games products at conventions, talk them up at game stores, and encourage other gamers to join the fold.

-------

I am agent 0111 of the MIB (Men in Black) who report directly to the Illuminati headed by Steve Jackson.

I have been covertly working the influence of the Illuminated into Idaho Fandom for years but only as an official agent for the last year.

My missions are ... (You're not cleared for that. Fnord)

I will be attending Fandemonium in order to further the objectives of the Secret Masters.

If you wish to learn more of the games I will be demonstrating and teaching, attend my demos and my panels or continue to be the clueless cattle you are.

Event003:
Formed in the mid 90's as an anime club in rural Idaho, COO started traveling to the "big city" anime conventions in 97. By 99, in a spirit of "we can do this", COO began presenting panels with what we believe is the first ever recorded Anime Dating Game at Baka Con 99 (Please contact us if you can confirm a previous ADG).

2000 saw the introduction of COO's lovable mascot Squiggles, the reformed tentacle. Various other panels and events have come and gone from COO's lineup over the years since, but Anime Jackass in 2003 marked COO's first foray into film. Followed by the direct sequel AJ2 in 2004, both films set the stage for the 2006 release of Super Fanboy Attack!. Which to our surprise was highly anticipated.

We remain in awe of our fans and ever excited to bring our events to Otaku everywhere.

Dead Gentlemen Productions
Contact: input@deadgentlemen.com
Website: http://www.deadgentlemen.com/
Dead Gentlemen Productions is a film company based in the beautiful Pacific Northwest outside of Seattle. The Dead Gentlemen began as a group of lovelorn single men bemoaning the loss of traditional values of Chivalry and general Gentlemanly conduct in modern-day society. Rather than sitting around complaining, they decided to do something with their time and the feature film Demon Hunters was born. After a few thousand dollars investment and several months of hard work, the film was received with great acclaim and a sequel was born. As Demon Hunters: Dead Camper Lake neared completion, it became apparent to the group that this was more than just a hobby and that the collective creative teamwork of the Dead Gentlemen was resulting in a unique film style that far outdoes many studio-produced films, in storytelling and creativity if not technical quality. DGP decided to formalize their relationship and began the long and arduous process of putting together an official business, a process which has been interrupted slightly by the continued efforts to make more films; most notably the shorts Revamping Doyle and The Gamers.
