 Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the board of Fandemonium?
A: The board is the highest level of responsibility within the convention structure. These individuals are the most visible persons of the organization to anyone outside of Fandemonium. They create and implement policies, structure, and act as adjunct members of directorial staff, should any be needed.  Board members are also the individuals to whom directors are subordinate.

Q: What are the Managers?
A: This is the first level of Responsibility within the convention structure, acting below the Board of Fandemonium. Managers oversee larger parts of the convention including the marketing, security, and personnel of the convention.

Q: What are the Directors?
A: This is the second level of responsibility within the convention structure.  Directors are the primary overseers of certain defined areas and genres within the Fandemonium sphere of influence. Q: What is the Security team?
A: The Security team is the eyes and ears of the convention.  It is their specific task to watch for and prevent theft and damage from both the dealers room and the convention itself.  Security is also intended to mediate non-violent conflict between convention attendees.  While most Security members are required to wear staff badges, there are plain clothes Security members as well.

Fandemonium Announces 13th Annual Convention

Entertainment Expo Enters Easter Weekend, for Three-Day Event.

Fandemonium announces its 13th annual entertainment expo, a three day event celebrating all things media culture: focusing on Science Fiction, Japanese Animation, and Gaming, with events, panels, workshops, contests, tabletop gaming, video gaming, demonstrations and more.

Video game and tabletop gaming tournaments will run throughout the expo. Multimedia vendors will be in attendance to share their wares or handmade crafts. This event is ‘For the fans, by the fans'. “Anything you see, hear, or participate in at this convention exists because someone in the community was willing to come in and make it happen. We expect to sell out attendance this year, and we are incredibly grateful to our staff and event-runners for their efforts.”

The Entertainment Expo takes place in Boise, ID at the Wyndham Garden Boise Airport Hotel, 3300 South Vista Ave, Boise. It is scheduled for April 14-16th, from 10 a.m. to midnight each day except for Sunday. What is Fandemonium?

Fandemonium was founded in August of 2003 and celebrated it's first event in August of 2004 making it Idaho's first multi-genre fandom convention!

Fandemonium's driving goal is to foster the advancement and a better understanding of multi-genre fan cultures in Idaho by offering opportunities for education and entertainment in the events and functions that we sponsor.

All of our event runners and volunteer staff are dedicated fans, just like you, who wish to provide their experience and services to the community. The Fandemonium motto is "For the Fans, by the Fans", and we strive to live up to this motto in all events past, present, and future.

What kind of genres does Fandemonium explore?

Fandemonium supports a variety of genres of Fandom, such as video games, Japanese animation, tabletop gaming, and more.  Here is a list of some of the forms of entertainment you can expect to find at Fandemonium.

What should I bring with me?

If you are planning to be joining us at the
Wyndham Garden Boise Airport Hotel for the duration of the convention, there are a few things you may want to consider bringing with you.  Other than the obvious basics (enough clothes for all three days, plus extra, toothbrush, etc.) We recommend bringing extra shampoo and conditioner, as the hotel bottles can be microscopic in nature.  Also, to save money, you should consider non perishable foods.  You can make many delicious foods with a coffee pot and a little ingenuity.  Eating out can cost a bundle.  We will be adding a complete checklist for your planning in the near future. Though please remember that outside food and drink are not permitted in any of the event rooms.
